Nicaragua  2010

Nicaragua surprised me. I didn’t think it would be so different from other Central American countries but was I ever wrong! First the people here are “muy amable” or very friendly, helpful and genuine. They have every reason to feel ambivalent about a gringo from the US, however I never felt any of that. Mostly, I felt very welcome and accepted everywhere and not just as a tourist. Secondly, this country is so vast, diverse, beautiful and full of interesting and fascinating history both very old and very recent.

The people, the history and the beauty of Nicaragua are unequaled and that’s why I love Nicaragua!
